it's a........

Where does the time go?

We had our "emergency" radiology appointment LAST Monday and I have yet to post!

Luckily I had no more spotting after the episode early that previous Sunday morning. And I was relieved to keep track of the heartbeat with my doppler. That made me a little less anxious going to this appointment.

The technician ended up doing tons of measurements that turned into the "20 week anatomy scan". She did enough to warrant me canceling the appointment I had scheduled for 11/12.

The placenta still seems to be low, if not covering the cervix. Different pictures seemed to show different things. One of my "you are pregnant" emails stated that the placenta is only 3 inches in diameter now and 1/2 inch thick so I can completely understand why it's hard to tell. I am still on pelvic rest. Midwives want me to get another ultrasound around 28 weeks to see where things stand.

So dear husband asked technician if she would be able to tell the sex of the baby. The tech said she'd try to check it out. She asked us what we thought and I said that we both, for some reason, thought it was a girl. She said that we were both right! It's a girl!!!!!

Later the midwives office told me that the report came back great and that all measurements looked right on track! I also got the final result of my sequential screen, which is "negative". The downs risk dropped to 1/3500 (was 1/1500), Trisomy to 1/2700 (was 1/2300) and neural tube defects is 1/3500. Needless to say, I am pleased.

Currently I want to eat everything I see.
Smart Food popcorn
blow pops
carrots and celery
anything buffalo flavored
orange juice, i can't get enough of this stuff!
chocolate

and finally aversions have said their goodbyes and I'm on good terms with most food now.

Next appointment is 11/23. I hope it's uneventful. :-)
